Every year, the Museums of Crotone and Capo Colonna (Calabria) adhere to the days established by INRAP, offering multiple activities suitable for all ages.
The cultural proposal organized by the museums has included workshops on the working knowledge of ceramic and clay, plus, the simulation of an archaeological survey, a stratigraphic excavation, and the restoration of finds.
The days culminated on Saturday evening, when at sunset, under the only surviving column of the temple dedicated to Hera Lacinia on the promontory taking her name, the passage of Aeneas took place.
The legend says that the great hero passed from the Lacinium promontory and gave Hera a precious cup. This short re-enactment includes a welcome rite, curated by the Krotoniadi of the Olimpia dance school, thanks to the participation of the Krotoniati of the Krotoniate Guard School and the Crotone actor Francesco Pupa. A short but intense moment aimed at enhancing the territory which, in ancient times, saw the passage of a great hero and hosted one of the largest sanctuaries in the old Greek era west side.
